Coming up: A full featured School Edition
This Ad-free Edition is just the first step on our journey to eventually provide a full featured School Edition with all the bells and whistles that the teachers are looking for. During the next 12 months, a set of major upgrades will take place as we will be rolling out a bunch of exciting, advanced features like logging in, customization, tracking, reporting, and a lot of new study materials.
The opportunities to develop our School Edition are endless! That’s why we invite you, teachers, to participate in this exciting developing process. Give us feedback, let us know the features you’d like to see in it, and we’ll listen. We’ll set your students for success and provide them with life-long typing skills together. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas about all this, so let us know what you’d like to see in TypeTastic School Edition. Send us feedback by commenting this blog post, connect with us on Twitter or Facebook, or reach us at hello@typetastic.com.
I am so excited about using this website with my students. It would help if you would read the instructions for the non-readers. Also, need some instructions under the Cupcake bugs. Not sure about moving the letters. It is not clear about moving the red panda to get to the key. Also, need instructions in Letter Truck. The website is very engaging. I feel students are really going to enjoy the site.

Is there a way for students to play under their name or number so they only play where they left off at? Or is there a way to clear off the games that have already been played on the ipad? We share ipads.

I signed up for the ad-free edition, but my students are still seeing ads. It happens the second time they play a game. They love the games.

Thanks for letting us know! We have just released new versions of the games and ads shouldn’t be visible anymore. Let us know if you keep seeing them!

Is there a way to set up individual student accounts for a school? That way student progress is saved and students can continue where they left off? Thanks!

Individual student accounts and directions that are read to students would definitely make this much more classroom friendly. The kids love the game but it does not record their progress so they often are repeating what they have already completed.

Hi Joyce! Student login and result saving are both coming later this year. 🙂 I can’t promise that the directions will be read to students but I will definitely forward this suggestion to our developers.

I am also interested in having my Kinders being able to pick up where they left off. A sign in where they can pick their name and type in a self made password/icon would be great! To also help with letter recognition, perhaps it could say the letter name / sound when they click it/type it. Reading it aloud (directions/story line) for the little’s would be great too. I can’t wait to start using this!

Hi Steph! We’ll definitely introduce login and other helpful features. All suggestions are welcome! TypeTastic games are developed together with the teachers and you of all people know which features are needed. 🙂

I just signed up for the free version, but am concerned about the cost next year. I can’t find it anywhere, and I want consistency from this year to next. I’d like to know what the cost will be, so I can determine if I should even introduce it to my students now.

I don’t see anywhere to sign in. It says that teachers can track the students’ progress. What am I missing? I did sign up for the free trial.

Hi Lisa,
At the moment TypeTastic doesn’t have any login page or progress monitoring, but we are in the process of developing both of them. The TypeTastic games are also available in our K-12 keyboarding product, Typing Quest which has the login feature. However, the first TypeTastic games do not currently save any data, but if you have students who would be benefitting from TypeTastic games, Keyboarding kickstart and Typing Quest junior courses, then I’d recommend trying Typing Quest as well. You can read more + sign up for a free 3-month trial at https://welcome.typingquest.com/typetastic

I am signed up for the ad-free edition, but when I put a link to the site for my students, they are unable to move past the first level of anything. Is this how it is supposed to be? Or should I be directing them to another link?

Hi Susan! Your students will need to enter the access code you received to unlock all the levels. 🙂

Thank you very much for creating this resource. Having looked at various other websites, this is comprehensively the best website that I have used for my classes. It has worked excellently with Year 1’s. An extremely creative and engaging resource. Looking forward to further developments!
