There’s a lot in this update, and it starts with something we’ve been working on for a while.
New: AI Literacy for grades 3-5
Students are already running into AI. It’s in their search results, their videos, and the pictures they scroll past. Most of them have no framework for making sense of any of it.
Our new AI Literacy lessons give them one. Grades 3-5 learn what AI actually is, how and where it’s used, and how to think critically about content that a machine produced.
The lessons are aligned with leading frameworks including CSTA, ISTE, and state standards, and the alignment documents show exactly how each lesson maps to them, ready for the day someone asks you to show your work.
Where to find them: AI Literacy is part of our K-5 Digital Citizenship Curriculum. If your school or district already has Digital Citizenship, the lessons are in your account now at no extra cost. A fresh look, built for accessibility
TypeTastic looks better than it did last school year. Colors and typography have been refreshed across the program.
The prettier part is nice. The more important part is that these changes came out of accessibility work, so the program is now easier to read and easier to use for more of your students. Everything is where you left it, and it’s easier on the eyes when you get there.
My Keyboard Adventure, rebuilt
You told us about bugs in the My Keyboard Adventure activities, including a bookmark issue that stopped progress from saving the way it should. Those are fixed, along with many more, in a new version of My Keyboard Adventure built on entirely new technology.
If your students would rather pick up where they left off last school year, the old version is still available this fall as My Keyboard Adventure Legacy.
Thank you for reporting the bugs. Teacher reports are how these things get found, and we’d rather hear about a problem than have you work around it.
